DeVries's
Paraliparis Paraliparis devriesi
Paraliparis devriesi has
been found in McMurdo Sound at 500-700 meters depth, where it lives on the seafloor (epibenthic) [1,2].

Specimens of Paraliparis devriesi have been collected up to nineteen
centimeters long [1].

Paraliparis devriesi lacks a swim bladder, and maintains its neutral
buoyancy through reduced skeletal ossification and
a gelatinous subdermal material [2].
